As You Like 03:51
As you like, I’m not here to judge you, honey It’s your life; no one’s keeping score I’m just fine, you don’t need to worry, baby Me and mine send love to you and yours Do what you wanna do; someone else’ll fight for you Someone’s gonna make you feel something, someday As you like; living is a gamble, baby Take your time; best to think it through You’ll be fine; just a little coin flip, honey Heads I win, tails you’re bound to lose But do what you wanna do; someone else’ll fight for you Someone’s gonna make you feel something, someday I won’t wait for you to notice all the lilies and the roses Growing right outside your gate And I find comfort in believing that once you’ve found yourself a feeling Things will up and go your way Just as you like—you’re off to a good start, sweetheart Cut your ties; find some other town to Realize no one’s got it quite together They just do what they wanna do; mess around with someone new Find someone to make em feel something I just wish I could’ve made you feel something

Warm Bodies 04:54
You’re just a warm body With a cold cold mind So put your arms around me Takes a thousand times Just to recognize this blowing over easy And just to see it that you’re smiling just to please me I got a life sentence But it ain’t that bad It was an old mechanic Who grabbed some odds and ends And then he Fashioned me for just to make you jealous Like the rib you never needed; like a statuette Well lie here cuz we fall too hard Cuz the world is ending Lie here cuz we got nowhere to be Lie here cuz we’re finding Finding something godly Well God he Fashioned me to be A lonely aching body You’re just a warm body But you’ve got cold blood See it on your hands, boy It’s of someone you love But if you’d loved her you’d have let her go my darlin Now I guess it is you’ll have to take to wonderin If you lie there cuz you fell too hard Or cuz the world is ending Or because you’ve got nowhere to be Or were you just finding Finding something godly But how could god after all she’s just a lonely, aching body I gotta mull it over Gotta think real hard Love it’s a rollercoaster; A sinking ship we’re on I’ll dissociate and never really send it For that way you’ll never know I really meant it Well lie here lest we lose our grip Cuz the world is ending Lie here cuz there’s nowhere else to be Finally back to finding Finding something Godly And finding God has trapped us inside lonely aching bodies

New Fashioned Holiness There’s no gun that makes you right And no bullet like a knife For to end it all slowly is new fashioned holiness now And the trees they have no mouths If they did they would cry out For they feel as they slowly die out having nowhere to grow They say nobody knows Of you people don’t know though we’ve tried to tell you How we’ve tried to tell you From the steps of the hotel I hear mother Jezebel Singing ‘beat em to join em; can’t wait til they all come around’ No ones coming around For they hear not a sound though the music’s playing You best mind what you’re wearing There is no sky; it’s a bold faced lie Just a ceiling with no end There is no moon; just a great balloon It’s a circus baby; a circus baby There’s a man inside my head Say he died and rose again Just to build up the walls of his kingdom so that no one gets in Put my name on your list, and the nails through my wrists And a gun in my hand; for it’s love that you missed It’s his love that you missed

about

most music is bad just like most people are annoying so anytime anyone tells me "oh check out this band, they're so good" or "you should meet this person, you'll love them", i know they're wrong. statistically. like mathematically. hard science.

but the good people at swelltone music sent me midwest pressure cooker when it came out a few months ago and i actually listened to it. as a huge fan of outsider music, the next worst artist could be right around the corner. but lily was good. like.....actually good. real musicianship, real songs, not just a finger painting of a mood. everyone and their roommate is making some horrible royalty free version of folk music these days but lily stands out above the rest. like a real artist in a sea of abc family series previews. it's an honor to have midwest pressure cooker in the sentimental catalog.
